My artwork is inspired by nature, its multitude of structures, shapes and shades. A fascination for the course of transformation over time has strongly stimulated my creative process. Nature’s cycles of life are explored in branches budding and sprouting, seeds ripening and bursting open as well as blossoms flourishing, withering and fading away. Embodied as elements in collages and assemblages they constitute testimonials to the passage of time. Trunks of wood burnt to ashes are turned to stone, layer upon layer, and traces of life forged by the elements revealed. Nature’s seemingly infinite variations are exposed in minute differences in shapes and shades which ultimately warrant the singularity of each and every entity in our universe. It is this awareness and recognition of diversity and individuality which forms a fundamental basis of all my work. I live and work as a legal scholar and artist in Germany in the city of Bonn.  In my artwork I seek inspiration from straying in the woods and fields or along the coastlines of my home country as well as from voyaging to far off places around the world, in search of ever new challenges to prior perceptions.
